UPDATE: On children lost, when family home is forclosed

In Sept. of 2011, I shared a story of a family forclosure, and the ramifcations it has caused the family, especially two young children.

Just recently, I was informed about the two children, that were taking from their mother and father because of them being homeless, due to forclosure.

They have been in some kind of non-profit group home in Palm Bay, a good thiry miles from their parents. 

Their mother, works for Mcdonalds and the father, from what I understand is disabled. So, they have been staying at different friends homes trying to get into a home of their own, so the kids can come back home.

Well, just this week, the parents were informed that the children, were going to be taken out of state to a boarding school in Chicago!  Now, these two children, are two years old and four years old! BOARDING SCHOOL?

The parents can hardly afford bus money to get to Palm Bay, so how does anyone think they will be able to afford getting to Chicago to see their children?  This non-profit, told the parents, there is no boarding school in Florida, were they can put these young children! 

My question is, what is wrong with putting them into family fostercare here in Florida?

Has this non-profit not heard of detachment disorder?  It won't be soon, and these children, will not know their parents!

Furthermore, these two children, have two half-brothers, who live in Brevard County, is this non-profit not realizing how these two boys feel about losing their brother and sister? 

I emailed this non-profit on behalf of these two boys, Because they are my grandsons! No responce at all, and I realize there are privacy laws, but Good Lord!

So, with that said, Happy Father's Day, hope every father realizes, job loss, illness, forclosure, is just how quickly life can change.
