Supporting, Informing & Connecting People in Foreclosure
Important Contact Information
for National, State, County, and Local Government Agencies
(see below for all of the contact info)
There is a need to make phone calls, write letters, mail or fax them, and send emails more so now than ever before with all of the changes happening with the FORECLOSURE CRISIS! This Blog Post is meant to make it easier for all of us by listing many of the most important government and other agencies we should be contacting (see below for all of the contact info). I suggest you print out a real-paper copy of it and keep it handy (you never know when your computer may have trouble allowing you to access your info).
You can make contact by ANY or ALL of these:
Phone calls, Emails, Faxed Letters, Real “snail mail” Letters
…they are all good! Keeping a copy of what you send is good, too. You never know when you may be able to re-use a letter or email for another contact! I recommend using ALL of the above avenues of contact to ensure they get the message one way or
another!
HELPFUL HINTS:
When writing to Government Officials and Agencies, Offices, etc, remember this saying:
“Honey attracts bees better than vinegar.” and
"The shorter the letter, the more likely it is to be read and remembered"
Being kind and complementary (I know this may be difficult if you are "hopping mad", but will be well worth the effort if you want to be heard) is a better way to ensure your emails, letters, faxes, and phone calls are listened to and read. Just think of
what makes you want to listen…and what makes you “tune out” something. Of
course, there may be times to be bold and adamant…but you’ll know when that is
appropriate!
I've been calling, writing, faxing and emailing for a long time...and I have personal emails from President Barak Obama, Governor Arnold Schwarzenneger, and many Congressmen/women, State Representatives, Mayors, City Officials,Television stations, NewsPapers, and various other people and places that can hear and can DO something....Don't forget the County Recorder's Office! Whether they will do anything is anyone's guess, but I am sure doing my best to let them know what I believe is going on and what they can do to stop it! Whether my letters sent many months ago have had any affect on the recent moratoriums, who knows...but they must have heard me because I called, emailed, faxed countless times! And I have not stopped! I am so busy with my (2) own court cases and home schooling my kids that I can't get out and DO much, but I sure can do much from home, as can many of you if you so desire! If anyone is at a loss for words, I would be happy to send you the letters (in letter, fax and email forms) that I have been sending, and you are welcome to use them as examples! (just send me a message here on Foreclosure Hamlet or see my email at the end of this blog). There are many letters that others have written, and unless they have a copyright, you could even use theirs as a model.
These are places we should all be contacting regarding fraudulent foreclosures. If they hear from enough of us, from enough different agencies, and in different forms...perhaps they'll finally hear us and DO SOMETHING! Remember Dr. Seuss' "Horton Hears a Who"? Silly, I know, but we need to be heard somehow, and together, we can make a louder noise!!!
