WELLS FARGO QUITS THE OFFICE OF DAVID J. STERN

Wells Fargo confirmed today that it is transferring its Florida foreclosure files from David J. Stern’s Plantation-based law firm to other attorneys in the state.

Vickee J. Adams, vice president for Wells Fargo communications, gave no reason for the transfers, but they come one week after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac took its cases from Stern.

Stern’s firm is one of four so-called “foreclosure mills” under investigation by the Florida attorney general’s office,…
