Make sure you get everything in writing. Especially any promises. Best if you send a registered letter informing them that they may no longer call you for collection purposes but all further communication should be in writing.

I tried working with Wamu, then Chase for over 15 months.  I am in Texas....ended up having to file Chapter 13 to avoid foreclosure.
