THEY MODIFIED ME 1/1020 ADDED 10K TO MY 199K LOAN ON MY (PURCHASED IN 2005 FOR 260K) now 108k house. a take it or leave it loan. my mortgage went up because of escrow. they told me sign the papers or foreclose. i sign and stayed and as i told them i was one paycheck away from foreclosure. i paid april through aug and my hhusband got sick, and i was underemplyed trying desp. to find another job was not happeneing. i asked to be considered for hamp. all my paper work is in they call me everyday even sunday (dogs),

You may consider thinking like a banker. Know your enemy. Congressional hearings confirmed a 2-track course of action by all major loan servicers. A loan mod allows them to re-establish a note that might have been defective. You need to know if your loan has been securitized regardless. Placing a loan in a pool of Mortgage Backed Securities clouds the title because it converts the note. Even if you make all your payments to the end, you end up with a clouded title and possibly a house you can't sell because no one will issue title insurance.
You need to establish your own 2-track plan of operation since most loan mods don't work in the long run. And let your neighbors know what you're up to and what you find.
