Hmmmmmmmmmm, now didn't DINSFLA just post that the judges' 401K plans were heavily invested in foreclosure related funds?
would love to find the guy's motion but the decision neither states the judge's name nor the circuit. the 1st DCA is comprised of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 14th Circuits. these span from Jacksonville to the Florida/Alabama state line. lots of counties to look into.

Disclosure/Recusal/Disqualification
It takes something very personal for a judge to recuse from "x" case. Wow.
AWESOME, now if only my area DCA would do the same!!
Involuntary recusal is indeed rare. It does require a personal conflict of some sort. (That the judicial retirement fund is invested in foreclosure-related funds is not likely to be enough; that the judge himself is individually so invested may easily be enough.)

For those inquiring minds who want to know, a quick online check shows a Joseph W. Mines lives in Jacksonville. Plus, the reference to the chief circuit judge needing to appoint another judge shows the judge is in a larger judicial district, such as Jacksonville.
Good information! Thank you BR. Nice to see you joining in.
